Searching for a great UAE staycation destination that’s within driving distance? I can highly recommend a trip to the 5* Danat Al Ain Resort.
It’s a great place for a weekend getaway with your family. Or the perfect place to celebrate a special day or anniversary. Plus, the Danat Al Ain Resort is just a short journey away from Dubai.
Particularly great if you want a weekend getaway with your family to celebrate a special day or anniversary, the Danat Al Ain Resort is just a short journey away from Dubai.
Anniversaries for us have never really meant expensive gifts, or romantic dinners – but rather quality time with family. Looking at all the fantastic staycation deals currently on Cobone, we jumped at the opportunity to get away for one night.
As much as I love Dubai’s city life, the thing I miss most is the abundance of natural, lush flora… So Danat Al Ain immediately caught my eye with the image of rolling green palm trees in the distance.
It only took a few easy clicks online to book our Cobone voucher, and we were set to go!
The 90 minute drive from Dubai was the perfect amount of time for our family.
Upon arrival at the Danat Al Ain Resort, we were warmly greeted by the valet service. They swiftly assisted with our luggage. Then, we were ushered towards the reception where check-in was a breeze. We were also given wristbands. To complete check-in, the staff kindly requested us to go directly to our lunch buffet. After all, our all-inclusive package comprised of all three meals during our one night stay.
After eating, we made our way to our room to check it out. We stayed on the 6th floor with pool facing views. To be honest, we didn’t actually stay inside the room that much… We were mostly on the balcony, gazing out towards the tops of the date palm trees as far as the eye could see. As a very special touch, we received a hearth-shaped cake with two handcrafted roses that read ‘Happy Anniversary’ on the top. Of course, it lasted long enough to capture a picture of it before it was quickly devoured by our two greedy children. Around sun set, we headed downstairs to explore the grounds before dinner.
The children’s playground was one of the best that I had seen in a hotel. We couldn’t stop the boys from swinging, climbing, sliding and running for HOURS.
There’s even a trampoline, volleyball net, and loads of grassy space for ballgames to keep children of all ages occupied. After all, it’s what every parent wants while on a staycation or holiday.
There’s also three stunning swimming pools in the Danat Al Ain Resort, all comfortably heated to enjoy all year round. The Oasis Bar also extends into the main adult pool for simultaneous sips and dips! For the sprogs, the shallow paddling pool has an in-built slide. There’s also a 33 metre lap pool, which would please any fitness lover.
The gym that looks out onto the recreation area is very well kitted-out, with state of the art equipment… According to my gym-loving husband!
There is a recently opened McGettigan’s bar onsite for those who enjoy a more adult scene. There’s also a Shooter’s, where you can enjoy a game of pool and casual drinks with friends.
For dinner, a great spread of international cuisine was on offer; with dishes ranging from Asian curries to Arabic grills. We were so full by the time our day ended, that we passed on the evening entertainment of song and dance. Instead, we headed straight up to our room and called it a night.
The next morning, we spent breakfast chatting to the chefs, and running through the breathtaking gardens. I must say that if I had to choose only one reason to go back to Danat Al Ain, it would be for the employees. Having been in the hospitality industry myself, a little insider secret to know how ‘good’ the hotel is, is to notice the attitude of the staff.
The staff greeted us with welcoming smiles at all times. They looked genuinely happy to serve us. Plus, they helped make us feel all the comforts of home.
Before having to face reality once again, we made a pit-stop to Al Ain Zoo. It was the perfect way to round-up our nature-filled staycation.
